Authorization, Accreditation, and Memberships

Vyrsity is committed to achieving and maintaining at a high level all appropriate authorizations and accreditations.

Authorization

Vyrsity has applied for an exemption from Iowa’s registration laws per Iowa Code § 261B.11(1) and (2), as a non-degree granting institution in the State of Iowa.

If Vyrsity is granted the exemption, it will begin enrolling Learners in courses, and will begin the accreditation process. Vyrsity has not yet been approved for exemption and is not accredited.

If Vyrsity is approved for exemption and is approved for accreditation, Vyrsity will apply for approval from the State and the accreditor for authorization to grant degrees. Vyrsity recognizes these processes can take time and can make no guarantees that these goals will be achieved.

Accreditation

Vyrsity recognizes the value of accreditation for fulfilling its mission and serving Learners, and so Vyrsity plans to seek accreditation. Vyrsity currently has not yet made application to begin the accreditation process. Vyrsity is currently not accredited, and credits earned at Vyrsity might not transfer to accredited schools.
